Come to think about it I did get an update from windows recently but not sure if it was yesterday or the day before but pretty sure it restarted last night. I am not real good with computer technicals but can usually follow someone who is. Anything I can do or should I start with a system restore? Everything seemed fine yesterday. Sometimes it happens when its been left on and not in use - sometimes while were. Selective startup is used to help identify the offending process, service, or application that conflicts with Excel.

I did not get anything asking for me to run or download something. Hi there, I have posted occasionally with spyware issues - but this is not that. I am able to run the computer in safe mode but can not turn my Mcafee security virus protection on still in safe mode.
When I tried to "turn on" my virus protection through my mcafee security suite, it turned almost immediately off on its own. Started with an alert from Mcafee and windows that I was not protected first thing this morning.
Tried multiple things, ran malwarebites and Mcafee scan in safe mode, can not do anything normal mode, but they detected nothing but some cookies. Had to manually turn it off for anything to happen. Finally would pretty much freeze imediately upon startup. My computer started to run extremely slow and quickly freezing up this morning.
